THE SWIMMER

This project is based on the short story "The Swimmer" by John Cheever. Neddy Merril, the main character in this story, embarks on a journey to swim across the county. The folded piece is a map of Neddy's Journey from the monotonous life of suburbia, to the depths of alcoholism. The book is an atlas of all the different pools Neddy swam in on his journey, as well as the owners of each pool, the distance from Neddy's house, and his intoxication level at the time of each swim.

The fold out map was prited black and white, then water colored by hand.
